o perform at the highest levels, and take care of the humans around us, we must have a strong mind, strong body, and open heart. That takes work.
"Hey, this week, I've been given a lot of thought to what does it take to perform at the highest levels. And I've come to the conclusion that it takes a really strong mind and a really strong body because we're really just athletes in this this game called life. Now we're not competing against each other. We're actually competing against ourselves.
We've got to strengthen our minds. We've got to strengthen our bodies. And that's not easy. It means that we've got to be intentional about the actions we take, thoughtful about what we consume into our mind, into our body, thoughtful about what we don't do.
It also means that we need to think through can we open our heart? Can we think about others and meet them where they are? Can we show up with care and love? And I think if we put all of these things together, strong mind, strong body, open heart, we can show up for our humans the way they need us. Because I believe we're put on this Earth to serve others, and we've got to take intentional discipline, action to be ready for that when you get tapped on the shoulder. Because that's an important mission. That doesn't mean you don't do things you don't enjoy, and it doesn't mean you don't live the life you want to live, but it does mean you have to be thoughtful about how the decisions and actions you take will either affect people today or in ten years.
That's what's tumbling around in my brain, thinking about it, trying to get it right today, not always getting it right. And I wanted to share it's a good mission.
Take care out there."
A Quote I Liked This Week
What is important is what we do next.
A Moment
Thinking about this moment this week. Just got up, got in the car, drove. Turns out a few short miles away was this amazing beach. We would have never known if we didn't explore. If we didn't put more than a few scratches on the rental. And then laying in the sand taking photos of this little guy for what seemed like hours. Wonderful hours. May you find your moments this week. (if you're on your phone, rotate to landscape to view full photo)
